Barb's experience with modems started in 1983 when she was managing one of the largest national computer retail outlets in New Mexico. She transmitted daily reports and communicated with other store managers across the country through an electronic bulletin board at 300 baud. She signed on to commercial interactive services as a permanent resident for the first time in November 1990 where her explorations quickly led her to their public bulletin boards, forums or message centers. She enjoyed sharing information and tips with fellow cybertravellers about America's Land of Enchantment, home to the world's largest ballooning event. She quickly became recognized as Barb T., New Mexico USA., which has since become her personal online trademark (or "brand" as we refer to 'em out here on the Electronic Frontier).
